So we drove by this place before it opened, so we were excited to finally give it a try. I ordered the steak and chicken hibachi and was amazed that it was only $13.70, you can barely get McDonald’s for that price anymore. It’s a quick service restaurant, so you seat yourself, which we didn’t mind at all. I thought the dining area was clean and cutely decorated with lucky cats, giving it a fun atmosphere. My meal was actually really good, especially for the price. I do wish the rice had a little more flavor, but I used the steak sauce that came with the meat, which helped. The steak was tender with very little fat, and I loved how flavorful the chicken was. It was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and pleasant, and I think this is a great spot if you’re looking for a quick, affordable meal. Overall, we highly recommend it for its great value, good food, and clean dining area.

Finally, Alachua gets a sushi place and it is delicious! I was so excited to go and while the menu is a little limited, the food is so good! The portion sizes are amazing, the quality is incredible, the taste is perfection. My wallet is going to hate me because I will coming here a whole dang lot.

Kumo has a lot of good food options, quick and friendly service, and wonderful pricing. I can feed my family of 5 for under $40 (due to their large portions, I can split up meals) and the quality is still superb. Definitely a new family favorite!

We tried the new Kumo Sushi & Hibachi in Alachua. The Godzilla Roll was probably the highlight with spicy tuna and avocado, deep fried, then topped with snow crab, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. The outside had that light crispy texture, the inside was creamy and the snow crab on top made it feel a little extra special without being too much. The eel sauce and spicy mayo tied it all together with that sweet, savory, slightly spicy finish. We also ordered the shrimp and teriyaki chicken entrée with fried rice, broccoli, onion, mushroom, and zucchini. The shrimp were nicely cooked, the chicken had a good teriyaki glaze, and the vegetables still had a little bite to them, which I always appreciate. The fried rice was a generous portion and soaked up the sauce well. The hibachi steak yakisoba was another solid choice. The noodles were flavorful, the steak was tender, and the vegetables gave it that classic hibachi comfort food feel. It was the kind of meal that makes you keep going back for “just one more bite.” Service was very fast, the portions were generous for the price, and the menu has a lot of choices, from sushi rolls to hibachi entrées, noodles, bowls, appetizers, and sides.
